The weather station Weather station attached to old railway trestles.
The weather station is built on the remaining structure of the trestle.

Can you spot the MarshBunny? I am standing up - some of the old cypress knees are taller than I am.

What's left? Currently the Macedonia Baptist Church (built in the early '70's) stands on the site of the mill itself. (For you locals, that would be on Lipscomb Street, north of University.) The boarding house and a few of the original company houses still stand, and parts of the rail grade can be found, though most have been paved over.

The FIT boathouse on Crane Creek may be one of the old mill buildings, or at least made from salvaged material.

The weather station on the edge of Little Sawgrass lake is built on the pilings of the old trestle, and the campsite at Mosquito Island clearly shows that it is built upon the old railway.

During times of low water you can see the ghosts of the old railway.

The Railway trestles appear in the island construction at low water.

Mosquito Island has it's roots firmly wrapped around the remains of the trestle.
