Cattle egret

 

We call them "Cowbirds" because thats where we usually see them - hanging out in the cow pasture, eating parasites off the cattle. (It's one of those nice friendships that work out well for both parties. )

They are much like the small white egret, but are distinguished by the orange streak on their back and the back of their heads.

These birds hang out in family flocks and share a nesting area.
