Judy and
I were standing on the deck of the Weather
Station overlooking Little Sawgrass lake, watching the
birds. A flock of Coots were loosly grouped on the lake and
we had watched an Osprey hunting for a while.
Then we
spotted a different bird. We thought at first he might be another
Osprey, but to our delight he turned out to be a Bald Eagle.
Darn my whimpy
camera, I couldn't get a good, clear photo of him!
He fished
the lake for about 10 minutes, striking the water several times
before making a catch and flying away with it.

The flock of Coots
that had been paddling about so peacefully before the
Eagles' arrival really got their pinfeathers in a bunch!
The flock all scurried
together into a tight little group, with much squawking
and splashing about. |
